Frequently Asked Questions

What is the ImmunoLytics Knowledge Base?

The ImmunoLytics Knowledge Base is a curated library of testing guides, result interpretation resources, and educational articles to help you understand mold and bacteria testing from start to finish. Whether you’re setting up your kit for the first time or reviewing your lab report, this hub connects you to the right guide.

How do I use an ImmunoLytics mold test kit?

Place your mold plates open-side-up in the rooms you want to test, leave them exposed for one hour, then seal and store in a warm location until ready to mail them. Our step-by-step Mold Testing Guide walks through every detail with video.

What does genus-level mold identification mean?

ImmunoLytics performs genus-level identification — our lab identifies which genus each mold colony belongs to (for example, Aspergillus, Cladosporium, or Stachybotrys) rather than specifying the exact species. This is the established standard for indoor air quality testing and provides clinically meaningful results.

How long does mold lab analysis take?

Lab analysis is typically completed within 5–7 business days of your samples arriving at our lab. Results are delivered digitally and include a phone consultation with one of our Indoor Environmental Professionals to walk you through your report.

What does an Indoor Environmental Professional do?

An Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) reviews your lab results, explains what the genus-level findings mean for your health and home, and advises on next steps — whether that’s continued monitoring, targeted remediation, or a follow-up retest. All ImmunoLytics lab analysis packages include an IEP phone consultation.
